 La Llorona, or "The Weeping Woman," is a popular figure in Latin American folklore, often depicted as a ghostly woman who mourns her children. The legend varies by region, but typically tells the story of a woman who, in a moment of despair or betrayal, drowns her children and is doomed to wander the earth forever, searching for them. Her cries for her lost children are said to echo through the night, serving as both a cautionary tale for children and a symbol of maternal grief and loss.
